Electricity & Gas:

The ucahelps.alberta.ca, is a Government of Alberta, interactive resource that is helping consumers, especially vulnerable Albertans, make informed choices about their electricity and natural gas services. The website is mobile and tablet responsive and includes an interactive Cost Comparison Tool, list of energy retailers and searchable database that displays historic energy rates. It also includes contact information for our mediation team.

Water and Wastewater Utilities:

The Village of Delia provides for the distribution of water and removal of sewage. The Water and Sewer fees are collected monthly. The charges for providing these services are as follows:

The Village gets its water from the Henry Kroeger Regional Water Treatment Commission, which gets its water from the Red Deer River.

Penalty:

A 4% penalty will be assessed on all unpaid utility bills on the 1st of the next month after they were due.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE UTILITY BILLS ARE TO BE PAID BY THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH.

GARBAGE & RECYCLING

Residential garbage is collected Wednesday mornings.

Garbage Preparation Tips
• Occupational Health and Safety limits the bag weights to 50 pounds (23 kilograms). If the garbage is over 50 pounds in weight, we cannot not pick it up.
• Garbage and waste must be drained and securely wrapped and properly tied. Bags should be placed in an animal proof container.

Cardboard Recycling Bin
• must be clean, dry & corrugated – NO waxed boxes
• box board – i.e. cereal, soap or dry food boxes
• please remove plastic liners, wood inserts, packing, etc.
• please flatten all boxes
• brown paper bags & brown paper envelopes

Newsprint Bin
• clean & dry newspapers, TV times, Auto Traders, etc.
• any flyer’s that come with the newspaper may go with the newspaper
• glossy magazines & manuals with staples, glue or string binding

Recycling Trailer
Metals
• It is not necessary to rinse cans, remove labels, or crush
• no beer caps, bottle caps or canning lids that have plastic or rubber liners
• NO paint cans, aerosol cans, propane tanks, gasoline or fuel containers, batteries or foil products

Plastics
• All #2 plastics must be clean and contain no contaminants such as steel handles or foil seals
• NO Styrofoam of any kind or food bags

Beverage Containers
• All beverage & milk containers
