The Delia volunteer fire department was established in 1915 with 14 members. Currently there are a number of active members varying from 1 year to 30 years experience. The department runs with three vehicles, a 2010 Freightliner Pumper, a 2008 Wildland Bush Truck, and a 1991 Ford Rescue Unit. The area of coverage of the Delia department is quite vast, extending 17 miles north, 15 miles south and 8 miles east and west from the Village. The terrain of the Handhills makes firefighting quite difficult with the steep hills and an abundance of trees. We’re always looking for new members; if you’ve ever wanted to join a great group of people dedicated to serving their community, give us a call!
