David Sisley, Mayor

eMail: dsisley@delia.ca

I was born on December 12, 1941 at Calgary Alberta. My Father was born and raised in Calgary and my Mother in Huxley, Alberta. I married my wife, Carol, in June 1984. Carol was raised in the Craigmyle area, attended high school in Delia and we have four children.

I was educated in Calgary, having attended high school at Crescent Heights. I then continued on with my education and took two years of Radio Electronics at SAIT. After school, I went on to work in the printing trade for 41 years and owned my own print shop for the last ten of those years in Sicamous, British Columbia. During eight of those years I was a member of the Sicamous Chamber of Commerce, serving as Vice President and President from 1998 to 2002.

We purchased our home in Delia in September 2009. Since moving to Delia, I am now in my eighth year as a Director of the Delia AG Society, serving as Online Reservations Manager for the Delia Community Campground.

Elected and became Mayor of Delia in the October Municipal Election of 2017, returned to council for a second term October 2021. I have served since 2019 as the Village of Delia’s Representative for: Drumheller & District Solid Waste Management Association, Community Futures Big Country, elected Vice-Chair of CFBC in 2020 and Drumheller and District Seniors Foundation in 2019, were I serve as Vice-Chair, I also serve on the steering committee for the Sunshine/Hillview Lodge expansion project.

Hello everyone, my name is Jim Adams, and I am your newest Village Councillor.

I was born and raised in Calgary although did live a few years on Vancouver Island.  I worked through the heat and frost insulators union for about 40 years retiring in 2020.

My wife and I moved to Delia in 2021 to enjoy the peaceful country life that this area has to offer.

Throughout my career with the union, I took on a few different roles to stand up for the rights and conditions for my fellow members such as union counsellor, executive board member and job steward. I have always fought to improve workers benefits and conditions and will bring this attitude to my new role. I will strive to make Delia a great place to live for all residents.

Jordan Elliott, Councilor

Hi, I’m Jordan Elliott (formerly MacNutt), councillor for the Village of Delia.

I was born in Stettler and have lived and worked in a few places in Southern Alberta including Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. Just over five years ago, my significant other, Carson Elliott, and I decided to move to Delia to pursue a career and we’ve been in love with the community ever since. We decided to purchase a home here in Delia because its central for our jobs but it’s the people that make it a great place to live.

The council and I are working hard to make Delia a great community to live in. It’s a quiet, rural Village but offers so much to people that want to be involved in making a home for their family. As I write this, we’re anticipating our new K to 12 school, we’ve got new homes being built and businesses interested in setting up shop. I am proud to represent the people that live in our Village and hope that by working together, we can continue to make Delia a great place.

Our regular meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm in council chambers!
